The Next New Thing

One of the downfalls of all this new media is that it requires some sort of interface with an electronic device, portable or otherwise. But what if that was no longer the case? Following the trend of biochips that are increasingly implanted and used in people, imagine a new media that lives on a chip, in your body, that directly interfaces with it.

This chip can be used to get instant brain notifications from Facebook or Twitter, or even to communicate with hospitals should there be some emergency medical situation that it has sensed in your body. What about a log of your thoughts and emotions for your psychiatrist to access, for more intensive and accurate sessions with him/her? Perhaps it comes with a function that will allow your eye to act as a bar code scanner, allowing you to instantly place an order for an object in front of you. The possibilities are endless!

  1. WOW, i would be very afraid if this was the next new thing. In what you've explained, there would be no privacy. How would you control what kind of information is posted? Why would someone willingly conform to this? I think that this idea would directly violate one of the rights in the constitution. Im not sure which one, but i know its some where in there that you cant do this. lol

  2. I agree with Jah, it is a violation of privacy however I do think it has some good use to it though for like medical patients like you said. I think it shouldn't be put in everyone, but it may be a good tool for doctors for mental patients or elderly folks who can't take care of themselves, but just looking at a product and ordering it sounds kind of scary.

  3. This is like a science fiction movie. It seems to be adding another element to one's brain. This leaves open potential human violations and possible abuse.
